Artist Bio

Born in Southern California, Sylvette grew up alongside the beach communities of the South Bay Area. Influenced by her family and the natural environments she was surrounded by, Sylvette began to explore various creative mediums.

In the early 1990's, she moved to San Francisco where she met and worked on collaborations with many artists, poets, musicians, and dancers.

Sylvette is primarily a self-taught abstract expressionistic visual artist, mainly working in oils. She has exhibited throughout much of the United States, as well as parts of Western Europe in solo and group shows.

In 2001, Sylvette moved to Minneapolis, where she continued to explore her creative endeavors and immerse herself in the new lifestyle and culture of the upper Midwest. Weathering her first Minnesota winter, she adapted and evolved her creative energies: thus producing a prolific portfolio of new works that was widely received throughout the Twin Cities.

Attracted to the creative, supportive embrace and the seasonal changes of weather the Twin Cities provides, Sylvette regularly visits and creates work in Minneapolis,while she re-connects with life in Los Angeles.
